Julia London's Profile
  • Julia London I am re-discovering that change is hard. I've had big changes in my life, but years go by and you forget what it feels like to step out of the routine and the comfort zone. It causes me to look at brownies in a whole new light. Must. Have. Brownie. To. Survive. :-). (just had one). How do you handle change?

      • Jaime Messing I find that just jumping into the new thing helps. If I drag it out or fight it never helps. I hope whatever knew change is in store for you is fun and easier than I think! :)

      • Jackie Lykins Bentley I think change is harder when you get older....I am 48, and out of work..Maturity and dependability doesn't seem to matter any more in the workforce anymore....I guess I am just too old to these places....of COURSE chocolate helps!!!

      • Elizabeth Egan Eldridge How do I handle change? Poorly. Big, traumatic change usually results in rapid weight loss (to upset to eat). For other changes, finding something to distract me helps, or, in difficult cases, cooking my way through the dessert section of my recipe book helps. Last major change, it took until "Chocolate-Raspberry Brownie Decadence" to adjust.

      • Bev Katz Rosenbaum I feel for you. I am totally a creature of habit and do not handle change well at all. I'm working on it, trying to go with the flow more. It's hard. But just being mindful of how you are handling things helps a little, I think. Be sure to make at least a little time each day to do things that relax you. And do some deep breathing.

      • Carol Conley Plus, I count my blessings and think, "It could be worse than what it is."

      • Jacqueline A Wilson Also having big changes the past 45 days and more to come. Not sure how to handle it but have been hitting the pretzels with french onion dip lately. Not so much the De Pepper Cherry!

      • Julia London Thank you all for your inspiration! This change will be good in the long run -- my husband is going off to law school in Phoenix. I'll be going back and forth, but the disruption of our life is starting to hit me.

      • Lillian Teresa Fisher DAllaird Change is a constant that I can depend on. I have found that on my journey I have been able to count on three things. Those things being loss and change with joy sprinkled on top. Columbian coffee and semi-sweet chocolate are the indulgences that I allow myself and little people hugs keep me joyful and focused on someone other than myself.

      • Stel Hayter Jowell I handle change with a little salt, lime and a shot of Tequila......ok, a bottle of wine and some cheese to go with. I am a creature of habit in most things but I love change. I have had to learn to "roll with it".
