It's a brand new tie dye technique without the mess... and the results are amazing! This activity combines chemistry and art to create a designer t-shirt that is sure to get lots of attention whenever you wear it.

I have a grandson in the K12 homeschooling program He has delayed learning and had completely shut down before entering the K12 program. Now he is eager to learn although he still has difficulty with certain subjects. It has a great curriculum and great caring teachers that work with children on all levels. Including advanced learners. This is his third year.

a favorite of ours is pickin' up da trash! We usually go somewhere wonderful, like near the park by the river or in a shady area if it's really hot, or even some place near a playground that we can play at after we clean up other peoples trash they leave behind. We take pictures of both pretty scenary and them working so hard and then talk about ... See Moreways to improve education about littering and then play in cleaned up area's to share the fun of having a precious place to live, work and play! Now that we are homeschooling, I'd even be up for taking a single subject to that place and spending some time wriiting outside. The place we pick up trash is on the edge of a University. That would be cool. They could feel like they are in College for a subject!

We've also gone to the nursing home to help out. This is our oldest son, who's in 5th grade's favorite helping activity. He can not get enough of the residents and they build up his self esteme very quickly, by telling him what a handsome young boy he is and how helpful and cute he is. it's fun to share him with the elderly. :O) Good family ... See Morediscussions concerning those elderly that aren't able to communicate or that have ailments that make them seem od, strange, different or just plain frightening. GREAT education tool and so so so fun for all!

Babies definitely learn in the womb...my kids would play games with us when we'd poke them while still in utero...they'd poke back the same number of times that we poked them; One of my children that I constantly played loud music for in utero and sang for, was singing in her cradle in the hospital and first week at home...no exaggeration; ... See Moreunfortunately, they also pick up the mom's anxiety, anger and bad eating habits, too; Moms -- please be very intentional about what you do to/for yourself, spirit-soul-body even before you get pregnant...it truly does make an impact -- We have 3 kids ages 7, 6 and 3.5

communicating with baby while they are still in the womb was one of many ways, we as parents got to know our kids. With two kids, both very different, we could begin to tell their temperment, strength, and I feel like we influenced their interest in art and literature by reading poems to them and singing, talking a lot as well as listening to music... See More and singing along with the music playing. Even simple things like seeing how they play, move and when they are awake were indications to us of future actions of our babies. Yep, accurate too! Our oldest was laid back relaxed, awake and moving at particular times as well as loves music still today that I sang to him as an infant! Our youngest, moved quickly in the womb-and he moves very quick now. Hard headed, hard headed. Strong, strong. He would kick back and came out mad and extremely mad...some things seem to stay the same. I also have had both kids, both boys, in 2 full years of pre school, Kindergarten and so on....and this is our first year of homeschooling. Pre school was awesome for our kids!

Holly, good to hear from you....we too are just starting our first year of k12 and yes, for the SAME reasons, of which, I do not hear of very much. For us, it's true...we moved and discovered the schools are painfully behind for many reasons that I can't completely go into. cough cough...but, yeah, so our best solution was to pull them and ... See Morehomeschool. I'm not the pronounced homeschool mom...lol..it's just our best option for this year. It is going pretty good, I can see advantages with it, but it's a change for sure. I'd love to hear from you. thanks.

This is our first year also. My two boys are in 2nd and 3rd grade. I resigned from my teaching job in the public school to stay home with my own children. At first the curriculum was a little overwhelming, but now that I have really gotten into it, I LOVE it. I have seen so much progress already and know there is more to come. I think this was the best decision I made.
