KCTS 9 Tonight on Connects: This year's all-mail voting caused some consternation due to the fact that early results were all over the news (including FB and Twitter) while folks were still able to vote. This is particularly interesting in the Seattle Mayoral race with its very slim margin. What do you think we should do next election? Don't worry about it? Move up the postmark date? Bring back polling places?

Perhaps we should not have changed to an all mail vote system until we had the appropriate technology that Secretary Reed mentions in place to speed up collection and validation of results. Changing the due date on ballots will not change the last minute voting or affect early reporting. How about holding results until all votes are in?

I don't think it's important that early results were posted. Just because some one voted at the last minute, shouldn't invalidate their vote, regardless of their motivation to actually submit it. They have the right to vote, even if they are voting in response to the way the election is going.

I'm not sure what the problem is supposed to be. In Kitsap County we've been voting all-mail for a few years now, and it seems to be working fine. And I always see people driving to the 'polling' places to drop off their ballots on election day, rather than sending them thru' the mail.

KCTS 9 Today, Google's featuring Bert and Ernie! Who's your favorite Sesame Street character? (Or your kid's favorite, for that matter.) I love Oscar and his worm buddy Slimey. And Bert and Ernie. And Kermit (or Kermie, if you're Miss Piggy). It's hard to decide!

Clearly, the Google people feel the same way. They couldn't celebrate the anniversary on just one day, because then they'd have to pick only one or two favorite characters. So they're stretching it out so they can use all the best ones. I'm guessing on the 10th (the actual date SS first aired), they'll use Kermit.
