I miss the old KGMB back drop & grafix. It's gonna take me a while to get use to it. But, at least I can say I've had several opportunities to have been in the old studio. And that was back in the days of "Checkers & Pogo"...LOL! But, I'm still a die hard fan! Bob Seavey's smiling from upstairs...

OMG! Checkers & Pogo! I remember one time I played that game where you race to eat soda crackers with no water and whoever was first got the coolest prize! You got the chance to stick you hand in that jar of pennies and whatever you could hold to you got to keep! I tried sooooo hard to win! I'd love to see old tapes of the show. KGMB......many wonderful memories will be cherish!

What
is wrong with the 5pm news today??? It keeps cutting in and out, lots
of "pixels" on the screen - then it goes pink. IRRITATING!! I'll have
to watch KHON if this continues.

It's day 2 of a major transition and things will be a little rough for a bit. Also, how are you watching TV? That has a lot to do with your experience.

I was watching via satellite - DISH network. However, only your news station was having difficulties because when I switched to KHON to finish watching the news, everything was fine.

It's the way DishTV is receiving our signal. If you want it done quicker, you may want to send an inquiry to them through their trouble call center.

I'd like to make a few notes here. Someone mentioned that some of the federal money went to the deficit created from the 2001 Teacher's Strike. If anyone knows different, let me know.

Rail transit is getting most of their money if not all from the .05% county surcharge tax that went into effect 2007. You figure that would covered a whole bunch ... See Moresince it was imposed almost 3 years ago. To my knowledge, none of the stimulus money went to rail transit. If anyone can prove differently i.e. an article with a good source stating that it did, please let me know. I'm interested in confirming this fact or ficition.

With all parties involved in this fiasco, I don't think anyone of them undervalues education. That's just the way the cards played out. Furloughs are better than layoffs. And you wouldn't work 17 days for your employer for free would you? Teachers need to make a living themselves. They have mouths to feed. If you can honestly admit that you'd work 17 days free, then by all means, call the teachers inconsiderate. By all means, critize your Governor. After all, it was we, the constituants who made it law for the Governor to balance the STATE budget. But if you are not willing to tell your employer "hey, I want to work for you free for 17 days," then you shouldn't complain. If you can't suggest any positives solutions along with all your complaints, then you shouldn't complain.

From Rep. Neil Abercrombie: Aloha Everyone, today is the first "Furlough Friday" for our public schools. Somehow, we allowed a single-minded focus on the budget take precedence over the needs of our keiki and now we are about to deprive them of 17 instructional days, creating the shortest school ye...

I think it shouldn't mater Dem or Rep. leave the schools alone, we are so much in need of teachers & education, where is the future if our kids don't have education? Scrap some other projects & start thinking of the future of these kids.
