This credit card issue is so far gone....the credit card companies are getting so much benefit still! The interest rates are ridiculous. The only way consumers will benefit is with a no interest credit card and it be fee based annually. Otherwise the 19-29% interest the credit card companies are charging will keep consumers in debt for a very long time.

I just received notice from Citibank yesterday of a significant hike in my rates - even though I pay off my card in full each month. It is now up to 29% interest - and that's on the rotating charges! The cash advances are worse! I was more than a little pissed about this.

By the way, an interesting fact I ran across: Michael Bloomberg spent a reported 105 million dollars on his re-election campaign, the same amount Norway donated in 2007 to The World Bank for a health care initiative for the poorest nations. Sad! Talk about a need for publicly-financed elections!

Run candidates that fight for real change? (Keep going Keith!)

The best way to increase turnout--besides having more candidates like Rep. Ellison--is to put election day on a Friday or Monday, make it a national holiday, and allow for voting all weekend. More early voting is needed, as well, for people who don't work "banker's hours" and can't reach the polls in time.

How would enforcement be problematic? Company policy is written down. Simply read the company's policy to see if they are in compliance. If they are not, simply drop that company and sign someone else.
