I created my first book using blurb.com two years ago. I made another one last year, but both books were of a personal nature. This year I decided I wanted to create a book available to the public. Having so much content on my hiking site, the first task was to narrow the focus. ...

Kevin's Hiking Page I've updated pictures from a few hikes from 480x320 to 600x400. All hikes in 2008 now have the larger size (previously, only hikes since June 2008 used the larger size). I'll update more pictures as I have time. http://kevingong.com/Hiking/2008Hikes.html

In 2008, we went on three trips to places we hadn't been before -- Death Valley National Park, the Mineral King area of Sequoia National Park, and Colorado (including Rocky Mountain National Park). We also went on our first backpacking trip with the two kids. Hopefully that's just the start.

Kevin's Hiking Page I created a separate fan page for Sierra Nevada Fall Color. It's meant to be an interactive place for sharing places and photos: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sierra-Nevada-Fall-Color/137460182093?ref=mf I generally will not be cross-posting to both fan pages, except possibly for links to my trip reports and hikes.

Let's use this page to help each other find peak fall colors in the Sierra Nevada, as well as use it to share pictures. Please, post your photos here, but try to include date and location so people know when/where to go.

Start them early. We didn't start car camping with Nathan until he was almost 2 years old, but once we did it we wondered why we didn't do it earlier. He loved it, and we didn't have any problems. With Jared, we started him off at just 4 months. ...

It's sad how Facebook only allows pictures to be 600ish pixels wide, yet allows 1920x1080 videos.
