      Congratulations to the Regional swimmers and diver for their outstanding performances this weekend! Qualifying for State in Austin are: Matthew Phillip, 1st place diving, and the Girls 200 Free Relay Team, 3rd place, new team record. Members are Karina Sell, Ashley Nguyen, Sohini Mukherjee and MacKenzie Bowman. All regional swimmers set new personal best times. Karina Sell 4th place and new team r...ecord in the 100 Back. Girls 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relays, both 4th place with members: Karina Sell, Sohini Mukherjee, Ashley Nguyen, MacKenzie Bowman and Jordyn Taylor. Ashley also finsihed 6th in the 100 Fly with a personal best time. For the boys, Kei Hardison finished in 7th in the 100 Fly with a personal best and the Boys 400 Free Relay finsihed in 4th, with a new team record. Members were: Brandon Jones, Jonathan Durbin, Kei hardison and Dalton McCracken. Way to go Redhawks and on to Austin!! "Taking flight to the water"See More

          Varsity tennis competed in the Arlington Martin Invitational. Overall the Team won the 2nd place trophy. Winners of the tournament were Lindsey Bennett and Sonakshee Shree in Girls A and B Singles, Divin Sarthak in Boys B singles, Katy Zagurski and James Aiken in Mixed Doubles A, David Wilder and Isabella Maso in Mixed Doubles B. CJ Rodriguez and Matthew Lee placed 2nd in boys B doubles. Ricky Pujol won consolation in boys A singles. Rebecca Lee and Kylie Wu won 3rd place in girls B doubles. Way to go Redhawk Tennis!!!!

          In boys soccer action: Last Friday the Redhawks took on Newman Smith. They tied 1-1. Pierce Searls scored the lone goal on an assist from Keaton Parks and Alec Miller.

          Come support the boys as they open up District Play tomorrow at Heritage. The Varsity will kick off at 7:30 preceded by the JV2 at 4:45 and the JV at 6.

            Amanda Allen is the 185 lb Region II Champion and was also voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Region II-5A Tournament.

            CONGRATS!! The Liberty Womens Wrestling Team took 3rd place behind Arlington-Sam Houston and Coppell at the Region II-5A Tournament this weekend. Alexandra Pebworth (5th) and Isis Lewis (4th) qualified for the UIL State Tournament, with Ashley Williams (5th) qualifying as a state alternate. Kaisy Ames also won a regional match in her first season of wrestling.

              The Digital and Interactive Media classes are filming and editing short videos using Adobe Premier and iMovie. Tracy and Jayson, in Mrs. DeJong’s 2A class, are creating a stop motion video using optical illusions on the white board. They will edit their film in iMovie.

                Congratulations to Freshman Matthew Phillip! He is the regional champ in the diving competition with a new school record and qualified for the State Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin. The swimming competiton gets underway today at noon with the preliminary races. The top 16 compete tomorrow in the finals beginning at 11:00am at the FISD Natatorium. Come out and support your Redhawks!!

                  The Liberty High School Redhawk Baseball Program is hosting a clinic on February 18th from 9am to 12:30pm. It will focus on fundamental baseball skills such as fielding, hitting and base running. All activities will be supervised by the baseball coaching staff of Liberty and the Liberty baseball players.
