Mary What do you know about Grocery Savers.com? We just bought a car, and got these booklets from the car dealership. Is it a gimmick?

It looks like you have to pay for coupons, and I am not adverse to doing that...there are ALOT of complaints out there, but I am wondering if you follow the rules, if it could be made to work for you.

Email me more details. My dads company had me come in to investigate one of these that they were thinking of offering their customers--turned out to be a HUGE scam. Some of the other branches didn't listen and are now facing angry customers and possible lawsuits. There's several of them--I researched about eight of them.

It is called Grocerysavers.com. People seemed to be ticked that they have to pay for coupons, (that does not bother me). What did bother me, is that I have to wait for them to mail me the coupons. A savvy couponer knows how to print them off the Internet.

Emily Kleier Shewmaker

Emily Kleier Shewmaker Hi -
I have a Kroger Plus Card question....

When do you give the cashier your Kroger Plus Card?
Is it true that you need to wait until after everything has been rung up and coupons deducted before you give them your Plus Card? For some reason I am thinking this is the case because when you have loaded coupons onto the Pl...us Card these coupons won't come off if you give them your Plus Card before you start checking out.

Seems a little strange. If you hand them the Plus Card last then that will give you an opportunity to use a paper coupon and a loaded coupon on the same item.

Is this correct?
Thanks.

I've had the loaded coupons come off regardless of when I give them the Kroger card. The loaded Q will be deducted, as well as the paper Q.

Emily, you can give your Plus Card at any point in the process--they cannot require it of you. In fact, I tend to give it after coupons on all trips--just because I like to see the full totals of all the coupons then what the Kroger sale really saves me, and so on. And it helps to do this with a coupon used on a free sale item, and so on.

But ... See Moreits by no means required. The electronic coupons actually combine just fine with the paper coupons, no matter the order you use! The only time it would interfere was if you had some sort of Rx rewards amount to come off your order--then you'd DEFINITELY want to use the paper coupons first. But with Cellfire and Shortcuts, they work just fine no matter when the Plus card is entered!

Be prepared to make mistakes. Be prepared to take ALOT of the cashiers time. Follow the directions for sizes and amounts. When there is a problem, and you are right, go to the manager.

LittleMissKnowitAll I'm working on a yearlong savings tracker people can download and use--can someone who is better than me at Excel/Spreadsheets (not hard to be--I'm an Excel dunce) take a look at it and get the last column (total savings/year) to add up all the Total Trip Savings entries?

If you are working to fix problems with a specific browser and would like to bypass this check, just add ?browserok=true to the end of the Google Docs url.

They can use ones up to six months after expiration. Contact your local American Legion--they usually collect them or know who does.
