The Minnesota Council for Quality, in cooperation with Process Management LLC and Lake Superior College, is offering a two-day seminar on the history of organizational quality and the theories of American and Japanese quality masters such as Deming, Ishikawa, Juran, Kano, and Crosby. The workshop will be December 1-2 ...at Lake Superior College in Duluth.
This workshop will also focus on how improvement professionals can integrate their process improvement work in the context of their organization’s strategy and culture. The session is a mixture of lecture, exercises, and demonstrations.
The workshop will be presented by Process Management’s founder and Managing Director, Lou Schultz. Schultz and his company’s mission has been to assist organizations to achieve sustained, measurable performance improvement over decades. Schultz, author of Profiles in Quality: Learning from the Masters, has nearly 50 years experience – half in industry and half as a consultant.
This seminar is geared toward executives or quality professionals who are now leading (or aspire to lead) performance improvement activities for their organizations.

Lake Superior Writers will offer the workshop "How to Write and Sell Magazine Articles" on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 12-3 p.m. at Lake Superior College.
The Workshop is a "crash course" on the business of writing and selling magazine articles. Participants will learn about the most popular written forms for publication, h...ow to find the right market, and how to write a query and pitch an idea to an editor. No experience necessary - but bring a few ideas worth exploring!
The workshop will be facilitated by Felicia Schneiderhan, a local freelance writer whose articles cover topics ranging from boating to backpacking, healthcare to religion. She is a frequent contributor to the Chicago Sun-Times Travel section and other national magazines and newspapers.
There is a fee to attend the workshop: $25 for Lake Superior Writers members; $30 for non-members.
