Learn United One of the goals of Learn United is to improve the quality of child care in unregulated home programs. Many of these programs are serving our lowest income children and not providing high quality, literacy rich care.

Think your children are getting hours of playtime, story readings and stimulating lessons at day care? Maybe they are, but they could also be spending a chunk of their day watching TV or DVDs.

We're thankful for hundreds of volunteers who have helped struggling readers this year, we're thankful for 230 "Real Men," thankful for thousands of new & used books being distributed to kids, agencies and schools, thankful for our nonprofit partners & school systems who help coordi...nate this effort. Learn United Allen County should be very proud of our Real Men Read project. Houston piloted their effort this year and read to 4,500 students. Our Real Men read to over 5,500! There are 3 major Real Men efforts: Chicago, Houston and Allen County :)
