The preposterous thing that some people believe is that the Internet came to life as anything else BUT a government-regulated set of rules. Know who actually DID invent the Internet? DARPA, a government program. And who implemented it? Congress, through a set of rules set into law by, uh, Al Gore and Newt Gingrich. Without the government, no ... Read MoreInternet!

So, there are some people who seem to confuse the free government of a republic with a totalitarian government like the USSR's. Wrong. A totalitarian government would never have had the Internet, and they do their best to strangle it. But WE have a government that we elect, and which acts in our behalf -- or else we boot them from office.

Leo Laporte I broke down and pre-ordered the Nokia N900. It was T-Mobile's contract-free Even More Plus plan that sealed the deal. http://bit.ly/4aH9vv

Hope you love your N900. I just replaced my N75 with a new E75. I'm hoping that in another year or two I'll be able to grab a N250 or something.

It is is an extraordinary revolution : on that business model no permits or licenses are needed and no towers and transmitters are needed and there are no borders and rules. Also no large buildings are needed and no multi million investments are needed, a simple team of few employees is required instead of the traditional several hundred employees. That is a very exciting new democracy of doing business.
