Lew Rockwell Mike Gaddy on glaring inconsistencies in the army's Ft. Hood tale.

I'm not sure Gaddy wants us to immediately believe there's a conspiracy. Rather, we should be aware that what we hear may not be the truth, no matter what the source. We are more inclined to believe the first thing we hear about things, whether intentionally deceptive or mistaken in nature. In other words - think for ourselves. And know that we never know the real story about anything - only what certain people want us to know.

Charlie Pete Lew! Thanks for sharing about John Nese. I loved it so much I couldn't help but add some commentary! http://www.chuckypita.com/3-reasons-why-owner-john-nese-galcos-soda-pop-stop-is-the-american-dream-wwwsodapopstopcom/

I watched this video on YouTube and I was so overwhelmed by the owner John Nese. I mean, this guy exudes optimism and the American Dream. He said NO to Pepsi. He said NO to Coca Cola. His shops slogan, "The Freedom of Choice", is iconic!

Steve Can someone please direct me to some good LRC podcasts and or articles specifically referring to Libertarian view of Marx's Communist Manifesto?? I'm trying to pass on some reading material to a friend. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lew Rockwell Expect a New 3rd-Party Before 2010

There are legal barriers designed over a century to obstruct the rise of a third party. First, ballot access restrictions with quotas to appear on the ballot. Second, gerrymandering to marginalize and dilute 3rd party voters. Third, freezing the size of the US House of Reps to dilute minority voters and suppress elective credibility. Fourth, ... Read Morecampaign finance laws to suppress the entrepreneurial required to fund insurgent candidates. NO new party has systematically attacked these barriers. Until the electoral sham is attacked none will succeed. Been there, done that in the LP.

I forgot the fifth obstacle. The denigration of the 'Electoral College' from a deliberative body to a ministerial rubber stamp. Enlarging the size of the US House would enlarge the number of Presidential Electors who could then reclaim their function as a deliberative body in each state.

Today there is no republic, no democracy, no justice...only largely incoherent hopes of finding a shelter for a modicum of liberty. "I pity the fools!"

I recall then-HHS Secretary Dona Shalala explicit statement that the challenge in getting Hillarycare passed lay in getting Americans to "give up some of their freedom in exchange for security, security, security."

Sneaky Pelosi passed the house bill on a Sat night, by 220-215. How did she get all those people to stay there on a weekend night to pass a bill? Usually congress is outta there by Thurs or Fri. Lets hope Reid in the senate can't get enough votes together to pass it.

In the wake of this week's elections, the White House needs to ask if it it has overextended its political operation as much as it has its policy agenda in Congress.

The relevant issues, I think, are that he seems rattled (by healthcare?), and this will further weaken the executive.

Not sure how I feel about an Alex Jones article appearing on LRC. The man is almost as confused about economics as Michael Moore and interviews only the nuttiest "economists" on his show. His latest film was just unwatchable it was so weighed down with utter BS.

Everything we know about classic economic theory suggests the US economy should be experiencing Zimbabwe-like hyperinflation right now, thanks to the nearly $2.2 trillion the US Federal Reserve has pumped into the system.

Still puzzled while the Mises Institute is still talking hyperinflation when the Austrian School can correctly predict a Depression. The banks can hoard until the cows come home. In the 1940s their cash to asset ratio was near 80%. It's currently at 20%. Malinvestments should not be underestimated. Market clearing can take a decade or more.

We all want freedom for ourselves, but many people have doubts about the way others might use their own freedom. Under these conditions, the state is there to help. Get enough people to favor enough restriction, and the state is good to go, administering every aspect of life.

Rockwell says texting is not always dangerous, which is true, but what if it is, what if texting really does cause more accidents?

I disbelieve airport screening is about anti-terrorist security. That's just a cover story. I think airport screening is about preparing the public to accept warrantless search and seizure of contraband like gold and silver coins, etc. Coming soon to an airport near you.

Tom Mayer I think if there's anyone that can see the disgusting irony in this act, it's you. What better way to "go green" than to recycle materials from the most questionable attack on US citizens and repurpose it into a war machine?
