"Bolts Across the Globe" Winners Announced!

Congratulations to Our "Bolts Across the Globe" Winners!

Fans from across the globe, on five continents, have been following the Lightning on the Official Tampa Bay Lightning Facebook Fan Page since June of this year. And since then, the popularity of the Fan Page has made its way from Tampa to Sarasota, Australia to Germany.

Beginning November 16, The Tampa Bay Lightning held a contest exclusive to its fans that follow the team out-of-state, or from over seas - the "Bolts Across the Globe," fan photo contest was born.

After two weeks , and hundreds of of photo submissions, fans from the Czech Republic to New Zealand, California to New York, had submitted their photos displaying where they proudly cheer for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

And finally, after nearly a month, our lucky winners have been announced! The Lightning asked its fans to vote on the photo submissions, and the results are listed below. Congratulations to our lucky winners!


First Prize:

Jonathan - St. Augustin, Quebec

After receiving nearly 40 percent of the votes, Jonathan will receive a Limited Edition Tampa Bay Lightning Team Autographed Stick. Jonathan is pictured watering his skating rink, back in January in -22F weather.

Despite living in Habs country, Jonathan proudly displays his Lightning pride, year-round.




First Runner Up:

Mary and Stanley Pup - Jersey City, New Jersey

Pictured here with her German Shepherd, Lord Stanley Pup, Mary in front of the Statue of Liberty.

Mary is proud to cheer for the Tampa Bay Lightning while living in the "Big City."

Mary has won a Limited Edition Vincent Lecavalier Autographed stick.



Second Runner Up:

Steve - Plymouth, Massachusetts

Steve hails from America's Hometown: Plymouth, Massachusetts. He proudly displays his Martin St. Louis, Lightning t-shirt, while pictured in front of the world famous Mayflower.

Steve has won a Limited Edition Martin St. Louis Autographed stick - goes perfect with the t-shirt!


The Tampa Bay Lightning would like to extend a special thank you to all the amazing Bolts fans that took place in the first-ever "Bolts Across the Globe" contest. The entire organization is extremely proud to have such loyal fans stand behind the Lightning crest, whether in the Tampa Bay Area, or from out of state and over seas.

All of the players make more than I do.... therefore they are all big money players... Its time to bring true meaning to "together we will." Maybe Toccet should tie them all together and force them to work as a team like in the Mighty Ducks movie.
