Los Angeles Audubon Great morning on the Franklin Canyon bird walk on Sunday. First bird of the day was a Merlin. Last week the Introduction to Bird Watching Class saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk. Winter is one of our most interesting times of the year to bird in Los Angeles. I encourage locals to find a guided walk; discover the natural wonders of the Los Angeles Basin.
