William Schwarz Can the anti-reflection coating on a screen be repaired or the screen be replaced?

        • Lowrance William - we had to do some checking to be sure but unfortunately, the LCX-19 has been discontinued for too many years to be able to be repaired. Unless someone else knows a nifty trick for improving the screen viewability, I am afraid you may need a replacement. The closest replacements are the HDS-7 or HDS-8.

Lowrance What's your vote? Traditional Sonar only or DownScan Imaging only? If you had to pick one (Elite-5 or Elite-5 DSI), which would it be?

              • Tony Hatten Traditional. You have the ability to graph at a much higher speed. People need to understand that down and side imaging is a high tech tool that should be used when you reach a certain level. $5000 golf clubs do not make a golfer good. Sonar will not make you an Elite or FLW Tour pro, hard work and learning to catch fish will.

Abner James Morgan Is there a way that i can purchase extension cables to run my hds8 from my dash to the bow of the boat instead of paying for it to be wired a separately to the front. I cant afford to pay for the additional wiring or an additional hds unit :O(

Abner, for unit power, there are no power cable extensions to go from the existing plug at your dash to the bow. You will have to rewire the power cable up at the bow. Do you have an existing transducer mounted on the trolling motor? If ...not, we really recommend you have a transducer at the bow. However, if you still want to use your back transducer up at the bow and your transducer cable won't reach, there is an extention cable for your transducer

William Schwarz Lowrance Q: I have a X19 on my aluminum. It works great. One problem - the screen is fading. When I wet it or at night it is easy to read - otherwise it real tough - any ideas?

                • Lowrance The tech guys say that it sounds like the anti-reflection coating has been damaged or removed. How do you clean your screen or what product do you use to clean it?

                • William Schwarz Thats what I thought, anti-reflection coating has been damaged. I store when not in use and cover it when on the boat and not in use. Can I repair this? I can't remember if I ever cleaned it with anything other than water and a sponge - no soap.

The day my Favorite Wife caught her first Lake Sturgeon over 50 inches. Although she's afraid to hold fish, she was bound and determined to hold it. She's talking herself into it while landing the 54 incher.

                • Edd Allen Well...when I use to take her.....on hot sunny days she makes me troll in whatever direction that keeps her under the shade of the Bimini. Gotta admit it was beneficial at times.
