Evangelical Lutheran Church in America It’s no surprise that, upon return, veterans are delighted to see their loved ones ... What is surprising to many of them and their families is just how difficult this adjustment can be. http://bit.ly/2CUbmQ

Prayer by Col. Michael Lembke, III Corps Chaplain, 11/10/09 Fort Hood memorial service: "Lord God almighty, bless and keep us. Comfort those who mourn. Sustain those who are weary. Encourage those who are in despair. May the strong sense of community that we now feel grow within us a confidence to meet the demands and ...challenges of these difficult days, and may we all be renewed in mind, body and spirit. Grant this, Lord, unto us all." http://bit.ly/2nioMfRead More

Christian respectfully salutes all veterans today, including and especially military chaplains. "They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore." — Isaiah 2:4 & Micah 4:3

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Today we give thanks for the work of ELCA chaplains who serve in the U.S. armed forces, Veterans Affairs Administration, and other federal agencies and institution. http://bit.ly/2x0Md9

A heartfelt thanks to all military Chaplains. As a retired soldier I can vouch for the fact that they are sorely needed both here and abroad. Those who serve in the military have unique needs and are subject to strains in relationships not normally experienced by civilians. God bless all!

Over 50 years ago a Lutheran military chaplain made it a habit to visit in the barracks of new marine recruits in San Diego. He gave one of those young men a bible, and impressed him greatly as one who came down among the men. That young man had never heard the Word, never known the inside of a church, until that Chaplain gave him the Word he was... Read More so hungry to hear. He later met a young WSO volunteer...who happened to be Lutheran. He married her and was baptized, and he raised me in the faith, supporting me even when I came home with this crazy idea of becoming a pastor. So...I have much for which to thank a certain unknown chaplain, and all chaplains like him, who come down among and alongside soldiers like my dad.

One of our goals and mission is to salvage, restore and reinforce the 1st Amendment Rights when it comes to religion. Divorce is a disaster upon a family. Courts further extend it.

As an ELCA member, I helped found this organization to become interventional before the damage is done.Intervention can prevent parents fro...m leaving when divorce falls upon them. Intervention will keep children in Sunday School and preserve congregational growth!Divorce has weakened faith because divorcing people tend to run from those that can support them best. Their place of worship!

Join us in our mission to change laws that will support our right to do so! it's in the First Amendment! Anyone interested in more information, write to contact@equalparentingparty.org

We are a not for profit corp. http://equalparentingparty.org

I had the opportunity to visit my daughter, one of the Young Adults in Global Mission serving in Palestine, last March.I was appalled at the treatment of Palestinians--including Lutheran Palestinians--by the Israelis. The Israeli "settlements" and the mentality that goes with them,is reminiscent of lebensraum. The wall in the West Bank is just as inhumane as the wall in Berlin. Check out the struggles of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jordan and the Holy Land.

The Holy Spirit helped me feel better when I was depressed about the sad state of my life (unemployed, divorced, no girlfriend). I'm serious. I was feeling awful, but I just stopped surfing the internet, did a little work on my airplane model, and felt much, much better. I give God the glory. And perhaps I should also conclude that the internet is a tool of the devil.
