MOPS International How do you encourage imagination in your children - especially to get them through difficult or confusing times?

www.mops.org
Last year my son and his wife decided to divorce. Their three children were 4, 3 and 1 year old. As you can imagine, this was a difficult and painful time for us. In October the children and their mom moved in with us. ...

I m glad to be part of MOMSnext. Motherhood sure is a challenge, but you don't have to do it alone because you got other moms cheering you on!!! I am so glad there a place to go where everybody knows your name.

Cheers!

MOPS International As another Veterans Day comes to a close, read a personal account of what life can be like for a military mom.

The operating room was bright and cool as I waited to be prepped for surgery. “Is there a Mrs. Toomer here?” a man asked, entering the room.

MOPS International Dinner Table Talk can be a good chance for you to talk with your children about what's going on in your family, community and world.

www.mops.org
Table talk over dinner is an important place to process the small and large, local and global issues of our day. If you have very young children, table talk may be a challenge, but you are laying the foundations for conversations for years to come, as they grow up around your table.

I absolutly agree with this. We have an 11 year daughter and a 1 yr old boy. It's great for our daughter to just catch up with us on all of her social events. And our little one just laughs and wants to talk too.

MOPS International Tragedies can be difficult for children to understand. Here are tips on how to talk to your children about tragedies.

www.mops.org
How do I help my children process tragic news? It seems there is always so much TV and newspaper coverage of terrible events locally and worldwide. No matter how hard you try to shield your kids from seeing these catastrophic images, it's hard to do because it seems they're everywhere.

Ouch, mommies. It's just an article written from an author who is trying to help. She can't cover the whole spectrum of tragedy- lets appreciate her words of wisdom for what we CAN take from it.

MOPS International Are you "JUST" a mom? Quit using that as a just-a-fication - you're so much more!

www.mops.org
The idea in my heart bubbled out through my mouth with passion and excitement. I could tell that the idea was both appreciated and understood. Like a tuning fork I felt the vibration of resonance. Unexpectedly, though, a knot of fear and insecurity built up in my stomach. ...

Just curious... is it ONLY SAHM's who experience these feelings?

I don't think so... We could re-write the article with whatever title you hold.... the question is- are we letting our titles (or lack there of) become a glass ceiling that we ourselves create- od us back from all God has for us?

Can this experience be applied where we each are- what are our personal just-a-fications? Lets' GET RID OF THEM:)... See More

I love your story, because it is so mine, even when we struggle to put the necessities in the house the Lord somehow always provides with gas to get to my MOPS meting ( which is 20 miles away) and the child care fee. And often it is the only stress free moment in my week and sometimes month. Heavenly Father thank you for the blessing of MOPS and other MOPS mommies like me, so that I do not need to be alone or hungry.

I'm praying for everyone who's going through their own coinstar days right now..and for those who've been there and survived them to have courage to talk about it and encourage others.. that they can make it too.

There are lots of small ways to help... donate to your local groups MOPS scholarship fund, share coupons and coupon organizing sites, ... See Morebuy a grocery store gift card or gas card for a friend struggling.... help with childcare without charging...

What are some other ways we can help each other?
