Marquette University Soup with Substance Join us for a Taizé Prayer service TONIGHT: Tuesday, October 27th at 7:30pm in Gesu Church. The service will last an hour. Taizé Prayer is a form of Christian prayer founded by a community of Christian brothers in Taizé, France. The prayer includes meditative songs, the reading of Scripture, silent reflection, and ...prayers of intercession. The environment is prayerful and informal. All faiths are welcome!

university president for China affairs at Georgetown University, will
present “International Perspectives on the Economic Crisis,” Friday,
Oct. 23, at noon in AMU 157. He will discuss the economic crisis based
on his travels and research in Asia, particular...ly focusing on the
interwoven economies of the United States and China. Soup will be
served.

Fr. Cedric Prakash, S.J. (The 2009 Wade Scholar) will give a reflection entitled "Empowering the Marginalized." Fr. Prakash is a human rights activist and Jesuit priest based in the city of Ahmedabad in Western India. He is the director of Prashant, the Ahmedabad-based Jesuit Center for Human Rights, Justice, and Peace....
In India, Fr Prakash has been at the forefront on issues related to justice, communal harmony, and peace. In the wake of the carnage, that engulfed the State of Gujarat in 2002, he was invited to testify before the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and is still involved in helping the victims in their pursuit for justice.
