A number of biologists are challenging the long-held orthodoxy that invasive species are inherently bad. In their contrarian view, many introduced species have proven valuable and useful and have increased the diversity and resiliency of native ecosystems.

I work with a somewhat younger (ahem) alum. I said "Oskie Wow Wow" to him
a couple of weeks ago and he looked at me as though I were nuts. (I'm
used to that, of course.) But where does it come from? I heard it and
said in my years at Mac ('63-'67) and I even sang it at the Leonard
Center dedication last year, but I
never kn...ew what it meant or where it came from. Can someone enlighten
me please? (And when did students stop using it, as they evidently
have?)

Oskie Wow Wow (followed by Whiskie Wee Wee) was part of a pep-rally cheer way back during my Mac years (1948 - 1952). I can't recall the rest of the chant.
