Magellan GPS The last of the geocoins will be shipping out to you shortly -- thanks for the great repsonse and for your patience -- we didn't realize there were so many geocaching fans out there!

The prize could be anywhere: cloaked within the poison ivy matting the ground; tucked between the rocks in the slumping stone wall; stashed beneath the shaggy bark of hickory trees; hiding in the hollow of beeches with trunks like elephant skin.

I had a Magellan Roadmate and switched to the "G" brand. Used it for a while. Got frustrating trying to load points of interest...etc.. Saw the Maestro 4700 and looked it over pretty good. I looked at others, put the word out I was selling my "G" and sold it in one day. Got the 4700. LOVE IT! Used the feature to add destinations along the way, and worked Great. The feature I was trying to get on "G" is already there on the Magellan. Awesome job folks.!!!

I recently bought a Triton400, over a similar Garmin unit. I can't really say why I did that, since I've always used the other brand....but I bought one anyway. So far, I would give this GPS a very high rating, although not excellent. It's very user-friendly, which is a HUGE plus. The screen is colored nice & easy to read. Battery life seems pretty... Read More decent. And it's VERY customizable. Using VantagePoint, it's quick & easy to add new maps & caches. It seems to be as accurate as any GPS I have used. And it's just built really nice, feeling good in the hand. The negatives are...#1. I don't think this GPS has the ability for "waypoint averaging", which is REALLY nice for geocaching. #2. It seems to struggle a bit in keeping satellite connection during less-than-perfect conditions, like rain. While that's the only actual negatives I have found yet, there is one other thing I would really like to see.....as long as it was reasonably priced. A battery pack to go in place of the 2 AA's, with the capability of being recharged by a cigarette lighter, would be GREAT. Another nice thing to do for customers would be to automatically provide one free state topo map after purchase. I have saw that this has been occasionally done in the past, through marketing promotions, but it's not a full-time thing. So those of us who missed those dates are just up a creek. Bottom-line: The Triton400 is an excellent & fully capable GPS unit out of the box. With just a few enhancements, tweaks, & customer bonus's, it could be one of the leading handhelds onthe market.
