Last night's shenanigans were only the end of the beginning. Now the fun and games begin with the real hardcore debate of what finally goes into the bill. I still have an idea that a strong public option will be included. However, I do think it's time that the Democrats learned to play the Republicans at their own game... and fall in line and not bicker over something that identifies the Blue Dogs with the Republicans. If 70% of the public want a government-funded public option included, that's a no-brainer. Our Constitution is based on the people's sovereignty, not the corporations who control the Blue Dogs' vested interests. And as for Lieberman, Harry Reid should hold a Sword of Damocles over his head with the threat of the REAL loss of his chairmanship if he doesn't toe the line of the party with whom he caucuses. The "pandemic" status does not imply that it is more deadly for otherwise healthy people, than regular flu. With that in mind, the race to vaccinate, was a race to keep people from having the flu, not dying.
