I have seen them twice in the last few months- Eugene, OR and San Jose, CA. I will say this the Eugene show was incredible, loud and musically right on. Every lyric and and chord seemed perfect from beginning to end. But the show was in a small movie theatre turned into concert hall. You know the type balcony above with seats and general admin ... Read Morebelow. Max attendance 1200. It was a great show though with CTE opening and SSP headlining. Best lineup of the year!
Then there was the switch to Brand New as the headliner and the venue got a bit bigger. This time a college sports complex. The bigger hall felt like it posed a challenge to ManO and they never seemed comfortable. They had tuning and sound issues throughout their set. Andy was continuously tuning his guitar.
The thing that sucked most was that they opened with my favorite song "Where Have You Been" and their rythym/ sound was just off.
Ultimately I blame the roadie who tested all of the guitars before they went on stage. He just didn't tune them right. Bottom line though- This band rocks!
