Saturday evening, my Senate colleagues and I were given an opportunity to take the next step in fixing our nation's health care system. I voted in favor of bringing the health care reform bill to the Senate floor because I want an opportunity to work on strengthening and improving the legislation...

Thank you for caring about the American people, Senator Warner and not caving to the scare tactics and lies.

I'd like to salute Creigh Deeds for showing a lot of heart and demonstrating leadership in the face of some of Virginia's most difficult challenges. I also appreciate the campaigns waged by Jody Wagner and Steve Shannon and look forward to public service from each of them in the years ahead...

We all know how important elections are. Last year, you helped elect me to the U.S. Senate and Virginia's votes helped propel Barack Obama to the White House...

Mark Warner In a letter signed by one-third of the U.S. Senate, Senator Warner outlined a targeted, short-term plan to move a portion of the unused bank bailout funds established last fall into a new loan fund. With the help of local lenders, that fund could be used to “unclog” the frozen credit lines to small businesses.

Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) “and 32 of his Senate colleagues are urging the Obama Administration to do more to support America’s struggling small businesses by increasing the availability of credit,” according to a blog entry by Warner’s staff.

If I understand this correctly it would be a disaster! The only reason inflation and interests rates are low right now is because the banks will not lend money. The US Gov't has printed Trillions of dollars and if that money gets into circulation, called velocity, inflation and interest rates will go through the roof. We need to decrease the money supply so that are dollar stops devaluing. That is simple economics.

Creigh Deeds is the only candidate who will build upon the pragmatic and progressive style of government first started by his administration, and continued by Governor Tim Kaine. Do we move Virginia ...

As our health care debate continues, I'm reminded that Virginians hired me last fall to help change the way things are done in Washington and to make sure the federal government is more responsible with taxpayer dollars, even in times of crisis...

Roughly $7.2 billion of the federal stimulus package will soon pay for projects across the country that expand high-speed Internet access, particularly in long underserved rural communities.

I hear many valid points about cost containment but not enough about health care quality. Who decides? If health care is not a free market what is? I hope our law makers will make that distinction clear.

Liberals. You gotta love it. These people remind me of that bum I see everyday leaving work with a sign (Need Help). No what you need is some DRIVE to get off your lazy but and get a job. I don't want to give you a dollar as you beg at the stoplight and I sure as heck don't want to pay for your healthcare. As it sits right now if ALL Americans pay $38k a year we could pay off the national debt. Don't you think it is time we reel in GOVERNMENT SPENDING?

Some of these folks need to read the works of John Keynes, then they will realize what is going on. I swear with some people "ignorance is bliss". It's easy to criticize from the peanut gallery.

Keynes? He got us into this mess. We should consider the writings of John Smith who in 1776 Scotland spoke eloquently about the social responsibility of businesses. Where is that today? All they care about is money, money and mo money! It is surprising how much greed there is in a nation the majority of which claim to follow the teachings of a man who said greed is a sin.

Peanut gallery? I'm sorry, I'm in the middle of it.

I'm grateful that Senator Warner is using his business background to educate other senators in the practicalities of certain measures being proposed; namely the president's call for an expansion of the Federal Reserve's power. This is an issue on which Sen. Warner and I see eye to eye.

Yes, big troubles in banking, but Health care coverage has become too complex and too hard to get. It’s time for reform. While difficult, comprehensive reform is critical to our long term national and individual health..
