For more than three decades, staffers have been answering telephones on Capitol Hill with the phrase, Hello, Sen. Warner s office. Mail has been addressed to Sen. Warner. And e-mail addresses have ended in warner.senate.gov.

I wonder if Joe has ever thought about who is being taxed to pay for the unnecessary Iraq War and how much that has added to the deficit. Amazing that he talks about "Socialist" programs when I doubt he could not define the word. Been spending too much time listening to Limbaugh. Right on Joyce!

Edwin at 7:06am June 26
What I meant to say was, "I doubt he could define the word (Socialist or Socialism). I suspect he equates it with Communism. That some of John Warner's staff remains on Mark Warner's staff is very interesting and perhaps explains a lot to those of us who wanted to see real change. I agree with your assessenent of Joe and I hear that he's thinking of running for President....it'll be without ny vote!
Bonnie at 6:41am June 18
So glad to hear you say you think a commission board is a better approach. I do not trust any politician to deliver on transparency now. And transparency is nothing compared to accountability. The Fed has no accountability to the taxpayers yet has increasing control over our lives. Too much power for a group not accountable.
Keep looking out for us Senator Warner!

No, because you're currently paying more for the broken system than you would for the new system. In fact, even though the U.S. is the only first world nation in the world without universal health care, Americans spend more on health care than anyone else (by far).
Of course, this depends on legislators choosing to fix the old system as opposed to... Read More simply adding something new on top of what's broken. Under such a scenario, yes, it's conceivable that you'd be paying more in taxes, but it's absolutely not necessary. Tell your congresspeople to resist the insurance company lobbyists.

Congrats to Creigh, Jody, and Steve -- they make a strong, solid statewide ticket.
Now, we must harness everyone's energy and hard work to ensure that we keep building on the progress we've made since 2001 -- and keep moving Virginia forward.

Bruce at 12:40pm June 12
the government is trying too much at once slow down lets fix the economy first, then instead of more taxes to pay for healthcare we should focus on government funded clinics ,maybe even giving college loans to future doctors and they agree to work at one of the clinics it will pay off half the loan.the answer is also get rid of lobbyist if we taxed... Mark Warner filled out his NCAA College Basketball bracket yesterday. Though he has all the first seeds in the Final Four, he does have Virginia's VCU upsetting UCLA and making it to the Sweet Sixteen. He has UNC winning the championship in the end. Here is his complete bracket:

I voted for you for a reason Sen. Warner. It's apparent even more that while we may differ on which roads to take, they lead us to the desired destination. (i.e. UNC winning the NCAA Championship!)

We all can agree that bold action needs to be taken now to restart our struggling economy, to prevent further job losses and home foreclosures, and to try to ease the financial pain felt by families in Virginia and across the nation -- before the situation gets even worse...

Senator Warner, there's a lot of ink and bandwith being spent on buzzwords like economic stability, stimulus, accountability, transparency, bailout, etc. And I know everyone in Congress is working hard and trying to sell solutions. But where is the involvement of the American people? Why is it Congress can "decide" what is best for Americans in a... Read More vacuum? None of the ink and bandwith being spent includes even a footnote regarding any input the American Citizens have offered a single representative or senator in this regard. Overwhelmingly, the original bailout last October was opposed by Americans but Congress passed it anyway because they felt they had to "do" something. How is this process and this spending different? It greatly disturbs me that even while Americans have elected their representation to Congress, the reprsentation does not reflect the will of the American people.

Dear Senator / Representative,
At a time of serious national challenges, Americans should unite to serve the good of all, born and unborn. FOCA would overturn many existing widely-supported policies, including laws protecting parental involvement and conscience rights and those preventing partial-birth abortion and taxpayer funding of abortion.
Please oppose FOCA or any similar measure, and retain laws against federal funding and promotion of abortion. As your constituent, I would like a response telling me how you would vote on these matters.

Senator Warner,
You has said "Now is time to put aside partisan differences... The current partisan stimulus bill is a transparent payback to the special interests that helped Obama get elected.
