amen dan, dethklok is freaking awesom, yes i agree they are a cartoon but thier music is unbelievable, and thier show is funny not some two year old bullshit.

PS. remember that converge (wankers) and mastodon (fucking GODS) are opening for DETHKLOK

Brought me to the Seattle show, Dethklok & Mastodon are the two metal bands I actually listen to (not counting the real classics, the Metallicas and the Black Sabbaths and the Iron Maidens, which for me mostly just go into the category of classic rock at this point) instead of just passively hear every now and again. I wouldn't try and say that ... Read Moreeither one is better than the other, they're different kinds of metal and both shine exceptionally well in their respective fields.

For a band sprung from a cartoon, Dethklok has managed to out-metal every other death metal band I've ever heard. For a prog-metal band, Mastodon... Well, let's put it this way, Mastodon is the only prog-metal band I can listen to. Leviathan and Remissions are both amazing albums, hell, their whole discography is Earth-shaking. Dethalbums I and II are amazing, and the live show was one of the best nights of my life. I'd say they're both filled with incredible talents, and if I could, I'd smash them into one band so I'd never again have to hope that they tour together a second time (I mean, come on). Well, at least I was there for when they did, and it was mind-blowing.

PS Converge really shouldn't be on tour with them, I mean for a metalcore band they're fine, but that's for a metalcore band. If I wanted to listen to metalcore I would have gone to a metalcore concert, but I didn't, I went to a Dethklok/Mastodon concert to see Dethklok and Mastodon. High on Fire I got into, not as much as either of the main bands, but see, they actually *fit*. Converge? Not so much, no.

this was a bad ass show, and my first time seeing mastodon, and it was fucking AMAZING!

ken, i wasn't saying i doubted they could pull it off, i guess i was just surprised the vocals sounded so good, as there's a lot more actual singing on this record. that's what really impressed me; it was almost note for note. made me happy.

Friday night, House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Got my ticket, Can't wait to see the boys again!!!
