I'm playing a rare solo set this Thursday at Kenny's Castaways, Greenwich Village, NYC as part of the annual International Pop Overthrow, and even though the poster says I go on at 8:30pm, I'm actually kicking off the evening, playing first at 8pm, followed by the fabulous new duo of Pete Kennedy and Ed...ward rogers at 8:30, George Usher at 9, the Doughboys at 9:30, and more. Hey Maura. Not sure if you remember me, as I recently just found my copy of "Evolver" the other day, and a few memories flooded back. Anyway, last time I saw you and Pete I was probably about eleven, and you were playing a small Borders Books and Music up in Virginia. I bought an album, and my family and you two talke...d for a bit after the show. Anyway, after that night, we went to see you when you played a show near us. After awhile, you gave me a "steely" penny, saying it was good luck, and a songbook, as I was trying to learn guitar at the time.

Oh, a little bit o' Shakespeare, (I was always jealous that Nick Lowe got to "cruel to be kind" before I did, though I'm glad that one ended up in his hands), definitely the heartache of Orbison, and of course I owe the harmonies to the Everly Brothers.

Duh ...(heel of hand hitting forehead) of COURSE it's the Everly Bros, what was I thinking? Think I had In Dreams and Crying rattling around in my head... But that's why you're you and I'm a fan. Also love the lift and double lift you put on 'sleep' and 'dreams'. I find that even after about thrity listens, the whole CD keeps growing on me - the mark of a great one. You have so many "voices". Again congrats, and hope to catch you guys again soon in Ct or Mass :(

Received my copy yesterday. Although I have been enjoying the songs as you posted them throughout the past year, they seem to stay new and fresh. I am so glad you decided to include Shadows With the Lonely. It is my favorite and I think, the best. The artwork and the photos are wonderful.
