Joe Smothers I performed a song during the "Remembering Merle"set last April that I wrote for Merle. Doc, Sam Bush, John Cowan, etc. were on the session. Originally built as the Gayety Theater, the Byham Theater opened on Halloween night, 1904. It ran for many years as one of the country's foremost stage and vaudeville houses, with appearances from such stars as Ethel Barymore, Gertrude Lawrence and Helen Hayes.

The Bluegrass Legacy From Asheville, North Carolina, the Steep Canyon Rangers have built a reputation as an engaging acoustic quintet seasoned by constant touring. Before being nominated for 2 International Bluegrass Music awards in 2008, the Rangers were named 'Emerging Artist of the Year' in 2006. The group has been featured regularly on... the Grand Ole Opry, as well as major U.S. Bluegrass and Americana music festivals such as MerleFest, Telluride, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, DelFest and RockyGrass. The Rangers are: Woody Platt, Graham Sharp, Mike Guggino, Charles R Humphrey III and Nicky Sanders.
