Inside each person an endless, living literature is created each night as dreams catch us in a net of fact and fiction and our inner self becomes a mystery seeking to be solved. This ancient, yet immediate speech uses symbols to unite seemingly unrelated things and reveal hidden meanings in our lives. As the world arou...nd us becomes more conflicted and confused, our dreams can become an essential guide for reading the signs and navigating the dark times.
In this event we will view the life of dreams through the eyes of traditional cultures, through the lens of various myths, and through aspects of depth psychology. We will focus on dream work as a personal practice as well as an aspect of community work. We will consider big dreams that can change the direction of a life as well as the practice of handling dreams on a daily basis.

In this mythic view, finding one's inner passion and "calling" in life is more essent...ial than simply having choices. Amidst the increasing dilemmas of the world, it becomes more important for each of us to become "fully alive" and be able to express our inner Uniqueness.
Join us for an evening that considers how to become a "disciple" in one's own life and how to find one's true worth in the world. This dynamic and surprising array of stories, poems, and commentary offers tools for negotiating the troubles of the modern world while finding paths of purpose, meaning, and destiny.

I live in Olympia, and I attended the Portland workshop a few Saturdays ago, and it completely reinforced the direction my life is going. It was so powerful that my partner and I took the drive all the way to Port Townsend (and back!) for the talk this past Friday night. It inspired him in profound ways, and I want t...o say thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Also, might I suggest organizing something in Olympia at some point? There is a Unity church and a Unitarian Universalist church, both close to the downtown area (I'm not sure how you plan the space for these events...).
Also, I work at Radiance Herbs & Massage, and we have hosted small events, and sponsored events in the community for many, many years. I am by no means speaking for Radiance, but I am willing to be a liaison if this sparks your interest...
I think the community in Olympia is ready and willing (and needs!) to hear Michael Meade's powerful stories.

News of financial downturns and economic collapse resonates differently to the ears of the soul than it does to the antennae of the mind or the aspirations of the spirit.When all the news seems bad and getting worse, the mind falters and even the spi...rit, that transcendent, uplifting aspect of earthly life, can fail ...to light the way. Spirit may offer "peak experiences," but soul would lead us down, past the "bottom line" into the real depths of life. Soul would makes us deeper in order to make us wiser. Secretly, our souls seek wisdom and wisdom is a darker knowledge found in dark places and in dark times.
The soul is primal, the older, wiser part of us that is deeply connected to the world. It is the premier source of changes in the world and of transformations in our lives. Soul awakens as things seem to fall apart and soul would have us each find our part and path in life even as the world becomes more troubled and confusing. The soul is the light inside the dark, the hidden quintessence that secretly holds things together within each of us and within the world.
