I will like to know why I am being told that Detroit Mi-NWLB agency has not paid Macomb Community College tuition in over a year and that next semester they are not accepting returning or new student coming from the Detroit Michigan No Worker Left Behind program if the bill is not paid by December 8th.

I am a returning student to MCC though the ... Read MoreMi-NWLB program. The Detroit office is telling me to just ignore MCC and still report to class in January whether they have paid the balance or not. However, MCC told me that on December 9th all my classes will be dropped and I will not be allowed to attend school.

Who are the State Senator or board members that monitor the Michigan No Worker Left Behind Program? I am hoping to graduate at the end of 2011 but every semester its a problem with Detroit. If they have not paid their debt or if my classes get dropped because Detroit don't understand good business practices I will be going to the media.

Thank you, Judi, for actually providing some substance on an issue that apparently has some disagreement among Democrats. To me, none of this sounds like "banning of mining in the UP":

~Prohibit uranium mining until further rules have been established

~Require Mines to be located more than 2000ft from any body of water... Read More

~Require permit applicant to provide hydrological study for mining area

~Require permit applicant to show another similar mine that has opperated for at least 5 years and been closed at least 10 years without harming the environment.

Again, I don't have a position on this yet, but appreciate actual facts and substance over hyperbole, esp. from my own party.

It's a noble fight and needs to be a benefactor of eliminating waste, fraud ,and abuses within the system. Any idiot can just keep increasing taxes and sucking the life blood out of the economy!! Know any politicians that fit the bill?

Tony, the real idiots are those who fall for the "we can fund this state" with a tax system based upon a long gone economic model.

Our state government (US) has a structural deficit, foisted on us by those who thought tax cuts would solve all problems. If this had been the case, our state would now be one of the wealthiest instead of an example of conservative mismanagement.

Finally, somebody tells it like it is! They haven't deliberated anything in the Senate. Everything is behind closed doors. Months ago, I asked many legislators why there was no debate going on. I thought that what was the purpose of a representative body.
