We are going to host another casual cook-out social hour this THURSDAY NOV 12, 2009 @ 4:45pm - 6:00 hort. dept. patio area . We will hold the drawing for the Starbucks card. Thank you to all of you who supported raising funds for the new Student Horticulture Club!
Also this meeting will be important as we will host... a ballot box for you to stop by and nominate the Clubs Board members. Remember if you would like to be considered please send me an email with your first name & last, and the Position you would like to run for.
Once the board members are established, we hope to move forward on events such as, guest speakers, community matters, and tours that involve areas of horticulture, and always fun social events.

Come join us at our Free Horticulture Career Fair this Thursday!
MiraCosta College’s award-winning Horticulture Department will be holding a free career fair on Thursday, October 8, 5-7 p.m. in the Little Theatre (Room 3601), located on the Oceanside Campus, 1 Barnard Drive. Join professionals from horticulture-related ...industries and learn about preparation for various careers and more. Find out about today’s horticulture job market and what it takes to get hired! Half-hour tours will also be given of the Horticulture Complex at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Those returning surveys are eligible to receive a door prize.

Any potential Community College transfer students are welcome to attend. We’d love the opportunity to show your students why we think the Chico experience is right for them.
The event will be held Friday 11/6 and Saturday 11/14. It will begin at 9 am at the University Farm and end at 1 pm. It will include tours of ...the University Farm and Campus, as well as a workshop specific to transfer applicants and scholarship information. Lunch will be on your own. There is no charge for the event, but reservations are required, as space is limited.
Please make have your students make reservation by emailing me at adenney@csuchico.edu or calling (530) 898-4262. Please include: the date you will attend and the number of prospective students attending. We look forward to seeing you in November!
