Missouri Valley Conference MBB Notebook: UNI is ranked No. 18 in the Coaches poll this week – highest-ever ranking for the Panthers. Two Valley teams are in the Top 40 of the RPI (13-UNI, 37-WSU). The MVC is rated No. 9 as a league. UNI and Wichita State are both 20-game winners (there are only 14 20-game winners nationally). Josh Young became t...he all-time leading scorer at Drake, while Colt Ryan is 7 points off the UE freshman scoring record.
Missouri Valley Conference This week’s State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player/Newcomer of the Week are Missouri State’s Jaleshia Roberson and Christiana Shorter. Roberson earns the top honor for a league-best third time this season, while Shorter tallied her second consecutive and MVC-best fourth time in 2009-10.
Missouri Valley Conference UNI is No. 18 in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and No. 19 in the Associated Press poll -- it's the highest-ever ranking for the Panthers. Wichita State received five points in the AP poll. Prior to UNI, Drake was the MVC's last ranked team (The Bulldogs were No. 14 in the season-ending Associated Press poll... of 2007-08). Six different MVC teams have been ranked since 2006.
