We will discuss what role the police play in our vision of a safe world, police-initiated abuse, targeting and violence in our communities, and current efforts to change policing practices & increase accountability. From there, we will do a community safety strategy brainstorm, using East Atlanta Village as a case study (or other area, determined by who is in the room), to come up with some concrete strategies to increase safety without strengthening police presence.
