In 1983, Mike Thompson opened the first Montrose Ford dealership in Fairlawn. His way of doing business was truly unique—he didn’t feel like he was pushing car sales, he was simply helping friends out. As a result, his dealership became so popular that he opened new stores in Alliance, Louisville, Akron, Kent, Sheffield, Brookpark, and Hermitage, PA. Today, Montrose sells 17 new car brands (Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Nissan, Chevy, Cadillac, GMC, Pontiac, Chrysler, Buick, Toyota, Scion, Kia, Mazda, and Lincoln Mercury), as well as thousands of certified used cars.
