ON behalf of buyers I would like to say that was not very nice. It's a tough job being a buyer and trying to please all shoppers is impossible. Trying to guess what people will buy is sometimes a gamble. And having a retail store in this economy is DIFFICULT. I don't know one musuem store that doesn't have to have a clearance once and a while to ... Read Moremove things that are not top sellers to make room for other things. As far as I know MoMA is a trend setting gift shop that has a savvy staff that even create a product line that is sold to other museum stores. Anyway, I didn't really think that this is the right place for you to air your grievances with the buyers.

I'm w/ Serenity on this. When marketing to the masses one has to select items with (hopefully) mass appeal. Expression of a forward, unique style and vision are the ultimate goal but you have to pay the rent too. I think MoMa makes a nice balance between ART and "art".

Recycling has been used in creativity by indigenous peoples as far back as can be considered. Several galleries are open around the US now that have art made from salvage from disasters.
