    With only a couple vocal sessions needed to finish Album #1 (MusicSpeak "sound of reason"), we're now entering the part I've been waiting for since last February when the Re-Launch project kicked off:

    GUITAR MODE! I've spent weeks on tone work while reviewing the original guitar tracks/tone from the demos. My live rig is making its studio debut on these new recordings after endless (and ongoing) ...tweaks, upgrades, a new custom pedalboard, and some 'vintage' (classics from the 1980s-'90's) effects racks. This will be the first tracking I've done using my Peavey custom shop guitars, with the "tank"(the Fender Strat used on the '09 released debut) and possibly my OLP Musicman Axis for additional tracking.         The Session Blog note has reached capacity for length so "work in progress" updates go on the Wall until I have some time for part II. Vocal sessions are still on hold from a 6-7 week holiday break. We're ~50% complete on Album #1 vocal tracks but will finish with 2-3 sessions starting next week. From there, some final guitar bits by the end of the month :) Can't start guitar recording until the t...racks are done so that I avoid stepping on the new vocals. For now, I'm working on guitar tones, building on previous sounds (from the '09 sessions), new tones, and bringing in the live rig and half stack for stage volume recording for the first time. Getting anxious and ready to move this thing to the launch pad. More soon...See More

          • MusicSpeak After another great session yesterday with Jennifer, we have one more vocal session + two vocal tracks + a few guitar bits with the live rig =MIX MODE for Album #1 (MusicSpeak 'sound of reason') will be ready for launch and Album #2 will take full priority for release (maybe/hopefully/likely) before Summer '12!!             Final mixing for Album #1 (MusicSpeak 'sound of reason') has begun! More preview tracks, and the new single will be posted as soon as we're ready... sorry for the delay, *especially* to people waiting to hear Jennifer Laverdiere's vocal deb...ut - we've been working hard and for what started out as a simple re-launch project grew into its own identity with new production, performances, and in the connection it has with the following 3 albums. The last nine month stretch has been very worthwhile (for all of the albums) and the experience gained in finishing these songs/production has been monumental. Can't wait to prove it.         MusicSpeak Preview Series 2011 (#4):
        The forth sample clip of "work / mix in progress" to go along with the Session Blog note that follows the making of the current 4 album project has been posted! This instrumental break is for a song on Album #2, and the section highlighted here shows a more progressive, and possibly heavier side of some of the newer material being finished during the past 8-9 months. Vocal samples are coming but there was some clipping on some of the tracks that needs to be corrected, so for now enjoy this along with the previous three samples. More soon...

This one is a verse section from an Album #2 song. Jennifer's vocal will be present on the next preview clip (#4) within a few days, so in the meantime check out this instrumental section demonstrating some of the orchestrations, arrangement, musical voices and dynamics in this early mix of brand new material.         New sounds, incoming:
        Throughout the week I'll be working on and posting new audio clips from Albums 1 through 4 as a special preview. These are glimpses of the "mix in progress" for use in the "Work in Progress -Session Blog" note on this page, which is an ongoing commentary on the current 4 album project. It will be brief descriptions along with a rhythm track from a part of a song, maybe just d...rum and bass, or a vocal break, and some will be full mixes from different songs throughout these 4 albums.

        Completed songs will be saved for final mix, mastered and ready for launch so the clips are just samples. I've wanted to share some of the new rhythm tracks (drums, percussion, bass recording has been constant throughout the spring and summer) of my best production work, strongest performances and writing of any project in my history. The tracks are in a "sub-mix phase" now while Jennifer's vocal and some new guitar tracks are added.

        We are deep into production on the first 2 albums but I've been working on all 4 at the same time, and they are all interconnected. More soon...        See More

            The BandPage tab which included songs from the 2009 debut, has been removed along with all songs from that album. That 2009 release is also out of print, and also removed from all MP3 stores. New music is coming soon, including samples and ...glimpses into the ongoing "work / mixes in progress", vocal recording, new instrument tracks, song and arrangement examples, and highlighted (for one reason or another) sections of songs from all 4 albums.         Another piece of artwork preparing for Album #1 (in a 4 album series). MusicSpeak ":sound of reason" will be launching this Fall. Maybe these guys are the producers in my head? I use this image of them to pretend yell at myself to "get to work!!"
