Great nations do great things. When a nation no longer strives to attempt the unachievable, it no longer is a great nation.
We once prided ourselves on building the world's tallest skyscrapers; when was the last time the U.S. held the title ...for world's tallest? Congress killed the superconducting supercollider essentially relegating the U.S. to a second rate status in high energy physics. The U.S. cancelled the Apollo program before it was completed 41 years ago; now Obama has killed the Orion/Constellation program virtually ceding manned space exploration to China.
We've gone from "Can-Do" to "No Can-Do". What a waste.

    • William Fitzwater the federal budget is a bit like a super tanker it takes a mile to stop another mile to turn another to turn around.
That is why change is so difficult in Washington .

I am sure Aries will have it's place and time. I am a HUGE space exploration fan but even I do not believe we should be trying to go to the Moon or Mars anytime soon. I DO however believe we need a maned presence on space stations and for t...hat we need a maned capsule and a heavy life vehicle.

I know the President does not plan to end our edge in Space.
