Bill Wright It was reported this morning that the Pelosicare bill will eliminate the CHIP problem by 2013. Interesting development, I wonder if the NEA will be work against provision.

Whole Child

Whole Child Join us November 5, 2009 on the Whole Child Podcast to hear how and why schools and communities succeed when they focus on supporting students. Research and common sense reaffirm that not only educators, but communities must invest in supporting students to stay in school because we all pay the price when students drop out.

NEA'sAmerican Education Week (AEW) spotlights the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education from kindergarten through college, and the need for everyone to do his or her part in making public schools great.

Should every person in America also have quality affordable health insurance? (And some can not afford much at all.) Should we share that cost as we share school, roads, police, fire, and military costs? Our teachers are losing that struggle especially when pregnant or those who have families.

no every person in america should not have insurance, it is a privilege , not a right. Doctors go to school for 9 years and pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn their craft. They deserve to be compensated handsomly, and not through our government. Lets not even talk about illegal immigrants? they DESERVE healthcare too? We live in an ... We in Hawaii are suffering both students and teachers. They have made 17 furlough days a school year. This Friday will make the 3rd Friday in a row with no school. It is nice to have days off but haven't gotten the pay checks that support that yet. The students can not afford to lose 17 days of school. It just sucks all around!!!! Our govonor took all of the stumulis money given for education and put it towards the state deficit. Hawaii's education is in trouble!!!

Have you read the book? I disagree with some points of the book, but to put it in the queue with Mao is a bit much. Give specific arguements that you disagree with. Open up a dialogue, but please don't revert back to red-baiting. We've been there and done that.

You are right about the Mao's Little Red Book. That really is about a peasant revolution. A better example would be Marx's Communist Manifesto. Alinsky was a Marxist follower that created a blueprint for a revolution under the banner of "social change"
