NFIB We love to get earned media from wire service reporters. Why? One Reuters healthcare story this week has run in about 150 outlets so far, while an Associated Press article on the same subject has appeared in more than 200 outlets. You can read those stories and more coverage by clicking NFIB in the News and NFIB in the Blogs in our Newsroom.

Timothy Fullerton Sr. We need to stay on track, small business is not endangered by healthcare at the present. We need cash flow for existing and startups. Let's lobby for SBA lines of credits that are guaranteed up to $500,000 to get the cash flow for payroll and getting out of the credit card loan businesses. You want jobs? Prime the pump!

It can work, but we need to take our own initiative regarding health care. There is too much focus on the drafts in Congress. Free market can take the upper road by following some of the states that have exchanges already and put small business first by getting approval and setting up an exchange. Then using the Internet, set up a network that could uncomplicate the process.

What about a credit card network that would specialize in lower rates for small businesses?
Since banks do little more than pr on their small business programs, getting a network together that would open up lower rate cards to SBOs would lower costs, allow for more room for employment and increase operating efficiencies.

NFIB Call your Representative today to oppose "The America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009" (H.R. 3962). Tell them that small businesses can't afford flawed healthcare reform that combines an expensive employer mandate, punitive payroll taxes and new government-run program. http://capwiz.com/nfib/callalert/index.tt?alertid=14280651

Yes Joel Meltzer - I have been insulted many times by my "employees" from City Council office clerks to Congress office clerks. The only phone operators who are never rude are the White House volunteers at 202-456-1111. They make no money as volunteers. They are regular people without an agenda who simply tally and record your "vote".

I have ... Read Morenoticed that virtually all clerks who "work" at federal, state or local political offices seem drunk with power. This behavior is similar to that of your typical DMV clerk, who might make you wait for no reason other than to fulfill a personal urge for superiority.

Enough of that already.

Today I asked my banker how this "Obama Small Business" program can help my business. He said it is "LIP SERVICE" - mouths are moving and words are being said but there is exactly ZERO being offered to my small business. ZERO.

I agree with Dave Gehl - I'll believe it when I see it.
