ATTN NJH MILITARY FAMILIES/PATIENTS: Stationed here at Andrews AFB, Maryland. Having a heck of a time getting a referral to NJH for my 3-year old daughter. Any tips in getting referrals from military drs/Tricare to cover care at NJH? I truly believe Dr. Ellis at NJH saved my mom's life...now, I'm my daughter's advocate... and am trying desperately and fighting to get her seen at NJH. I know they can solve in 2 weeks my daughter's severe reactive airway disease. It's been over 2 years here and they have been treating the different symptoms, without a complete conclusion. Any tips, help, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated. Paying out of pocket is not an option for us.Read More

National Jewish Health New Study: Amy Branum, a health statistician for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found that pediatric food allergies are rising at an alarming rate in the US. The study authors aren't sure if the rise in reports
reflects an increase in actual prevalence or if better awareness has
led more people to seek treatment for their symptoms. http://www.healthday.com/Article.asp?AID=633112

Ellie

Ellie I feel very fortunate to live in the same city as NJH. Everyone there is so friendly and thoughtful. The doctors I've seen have truly been a blessing. It's a relief to know I'm in great hands and have the best doctors around to help me through it.

Thank you also NJH for changing our lives--my son is eczema free and living a normal life after 4 years of misery and sleeplessness. We came to know about the program from woman in a parking lot who noticed my son's condition and kindly shared the information with me. I wish I could find her to thank her and hope tha...t others do not have to count on such luck to learn about the program. Thus, I started a "National Jewish Pediatric Day Program Alumni Group" on FB to network with folks that live with the same challenges as us and hopefully help those who are still struggling find the help that we were so luck to have found, this page does not allow me to post links so just do a search and join, post pics and comments if you have or will go through the program.Read More
