I currently teach grades 2 and 5 at my current school. I am an ESL teacher. In my previous school, where I worked when I joined the program until June of this year, I taught grades 3 through 8 in a pull-out ESL model.

Hi i have a question. In the cohort being created for the June 2010 program will there be any openings for an english teacher? I know the demand right now is for Special Education but I would like to know if there are at least a few open spots out there or are there none at all for an English literature teacher. Hopefully you can answer my question. Thank You

Thanks for your question, Kendra! We know that most Fellows who begin training in June 2010 will train to teach special education and science. We have brought on Fellows to train to teach English in the past, but based on the current needs of the NYC Department of Education we cannot guarantee that we will include English Fellows in the June 2010 cohort. If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at Fellows@schools.nyc.gov.

Lorraine Wronski Woodward Have you thought about creating a discussion board for this site? I spend time on the LiveSpaces blog, but it would be great to have another forum to share with other potential fellows, people who are currently teaching, etc.
