Natural Selection 2

Natural Selection 2 The game is now set up to allow mappers to pre-place structures, weapons, etc., just like you always wanted for NS1! Good for scenarios.

Natural Selection 2 The new Exoskeleton (to replace the heavy armor) is turning out to be a real beast. I hope we can make it look cool and play well!

Natural Selection 2 R.I.P. Pandemic. Battlezone (the remake) was a huge inspiration for NS.

Battlezone was an excellent game, I'd have to say one of the first to combine strategy and FPS and do it successfully.
Too bad its dead though.

You should try BZ2 co-op with a friend, it can be a blast.

Natural Selection 2 This new hive death sound is seriously epic. It was never "big" enough
but a couple iterations later and I think we have a winner. I don't
even want to think how Simon create this sound...

it's really not sounding like duke nukem. They said they undershot themselves a long time ago when they realized that they wanted to more then what they originally planned. Count yourself lucky that instead of nerfing stuff they decided to put everything in the game that was their original plan. However this stuff takes time, and like they said ... Read Morethey've started adding new members to their crew. So hopefully they won't have to push it back any more and soon we can get a nailed down release date. Getting mad about a game being pushed back is like getting upset that a baby falls down after it's first few steps. The is gonna happen it's who these things work.

Natural Selection 2 We got the "2.sec SwitchAx "in-game. It's a foldable ax that replaces the marine knife. Fun!

A knife seems like a lot more useful of a tool to a marine, imho. They're not going to be cutting down trees in some remote alien outpost, but a blade with a point is probably the single most useful thing you can carry.

Natural Selection 2 One of our Decoda customers gave this talk about using Lua in game engines. A good primer for Spark modding: http://bit.ly/2XLrUl

Source: bit.ly
I also said that you shouldn’t use pointers with lua for referring to game objects, This is actually a pretty good idea, however it should be done with care, since you are bypassing the enginemanager and going directly to the objects.
