Bev, I think you'll find its the best way to get "instant" feedback from those you correspond with. I love our monthly newsletter, and it reaches a LOT more people, but it's really "one way" communication. This way, any question or comment gets viewed by a lot more people, and they seem more willing to jump in and share.

Paula, are you still using the original "test run" of the toner that we sent you awhile ago? Or the "new version" in the order you just placed? Because in all honesty there is a world of difference between the two in aroma...and it sounds like you are still using the first one. (Which we have about 1/2 gallon of...but we didn't like the scent either.) mgc

It sound like it would smell yummy Katie. I'm always concerned about any cream or lotion that contains a water phase not having a preservative...they are SO ripe for contamination. But it's a small quantity and so would be used up quickly I hope. and OH it would smell wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

Re Ants... I'm told that basically there are two types...those who are attracted to sweets/sugar, and those attracted to grease. If yours are sugar ants... mix honey and borax to a stiff paste, and spread where they are coming in, or congregating. And then don't watch...because for a couple of hours that area will be a solid black writhing mess ... Read Moreof ants having an sugar orgasm. But by morning, they will all be gone, and they'll not come back.. They call all their friends and relations to come grab the honey, they carry the borax back to the nest to feed the queen...and good bye ant colony. I've done this several times and it works like a charm. one word of warning...in an attempt to save money one year, or because I was out of honey, or both, I substituted Karo syrup. BIG mistake. The syrup dries rock hard and you will NEVER get it off wherever you put it. You don't want to know how I learned that!

Packaging dilemma: if you were to purchase a rich, yummy face cream (or creme, as the case might be) would you prefer it in a jar or a bottle with a pump? A jar seems more "luxorious", but unless you are disciplined enough to use a wee spatula with it, there's added risk of contamination. A pump keeps the creme safer,... but I think some is wasted by being hard to dispense. Decisions! Help us make this one, pls.Read More

Priscilla Carter Poupore I bought some Wintergreen EO and now I don't know what to do with it. What is it god for?

Wintergreen is an oil that can be dangerous to use...it's almost 100% melthylsal, which is NOT eliminated...one of the eo components KNOWN to be absorbed via the skin and into the blood stream unchanged. We can't metabolize it, and it can cause liver damage among other things. NOT something to be used lighty, or on a constant basis. It is, however, an excellent choice for acute (not chronic!) pain. For example, I would never use it to ease chronic back pain, because it's just not a wise choice to use on a daily basis. On the other hand, it is an excellent pain reliever, for an acute condition that is going to be limited by time..for example, I have found it useful (diluted in St. John's Wort Oil) in relieving the pain of gout.

Another thing to consider... many over the counter medicines are also high in methyl-salicylate..and the effect is cumulative. Remembering a year or two ago a young college athlete died of methyl-sal poisoning from overusing various medications that contained it.

for more information you might want to check out http://www.naturesgift.com/birch.htm (The same warning apply to "sweet birch" oil... because it shares the same chemical constituents.... Read More

We no longer offer Wintergreen Oil for sale, because the FDC determined that the warnings we give about using the oil, and the warnings on our label were not enough. You may read that saga, from three years ago, here:

OMG, thank you so much for the information. I bought this oil from a Young Living rep and NEVER was a word said about warnings. Urrrrr!
I actually forgot WHY I bought it so that is why I was on line looking it up. I am so grateful for your message and warnings.

Pricilla, I'm glad you asked. I really don't like criticising any other supplier, but I think if you look closely you'll see that there are NEVER any warnings about safe and appropriate use of the oils from Young Living. Their endorsement of blanket "neat" (undiluted) use and internal use horrifies most knowledgeable practitioners in this industry... Read More. There are a number of reputable vendors who are fans of this page and have their own pages on Facebook... Marcia Elston of Samara Botane, Roseann Tartaro at Sunrose Aromatics are the first two who come to mind, but there are a long list of others, who have taken the time to educate themselves and try to educate their clients on the appropriate uses of the oils. You'll find that all of us stress "safe and appropriate" use, because we respect the healing powers of the oils we love. Anything strong enough to heal is also strong enough to do damage...
