Gary Flores hi...im in my senior year of nursing in the philippines...i just want to ask what are the requirements of being a health care provider in the navy... when i pass my board exam i want to be one of the navy nurse, being one with you is a great honor for me......thanks...

Maureen Whitney I really want to serve with the Navy/Marines as a nurse when i get out of nursing school (in 9 million years). i have a few major questions: if you serve with the marines, are you more on the "front lines?" This would be my preference, I like trauma and I do well under pressure. Also, if you serve on one of the med...ical ships like the "mercy," how long are the deployments? I'm married, and I'm trying to figure out if there's a way my husband and I can make this work that doesn't ruin his career (he's a teacher - and he's more than willing to take this crazy leap with me).

Peter Ostermann Please tell me about being a nurse in the Navy. Good and Bad. I've been nursing for 13yrs and need a change in direction.

Trenise Grimsley I want to know more about being a nurse in the Navy. I am a BSN, and I am currently a drilling reservist serving as a Hospital Corpsman, 2nd Class. Can someone give me some tips ?

Claire Macosko Hello, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving for those who celebrate! I'm a freshman in college in Ohio, and I am considering the NROTC and to continue on with Occupational Therapy in the NAVY. But where I attend school doesn't offer it.. what is the first step I should take? If anyone has any information, send a mess...age my way, I am VERY interested in learning more. Thank you!

Janelle Rebustes Hello, I am currently a freshman working on my BSN in Nursing, hoping to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner and serve in the Navy as well. I was wondering if there is anything I could do now as a freshman undergraduate. Any messages or replies are greatly appreciated ! [Also, my school does not offer NROTC and I ha...ve tried searching for navy health care recruiters in the northern New Jersey area without success =/]

Dafne Buznego Hi my name is Dafne, I am a cuban medical doctor who become an RN graduated from the University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico two years ago. I would like to talk with anyone that can provide me information about how to enroll me in the Navy force. How can I contact a recruiter in Florida?

Willie McCoy Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm a medical recruiter in the Greater Chicago and Milwaukee markets and would like to talk with anyone interested in Navy Medicine. The Navy offers a range of opportunities and incentives that could match your individual needs. Contact me at your earliest at 847-688-7100 ext 165 or emai...l: willie.a.mccoy@navy.mil with any questions. Best always,

John C. King 21 years (and still going) in the Navy as a physician - it's a great vocation.

Jamshaid Farouq I am an RN in North Carolina currently pursuing my BSN. I speak Spanish, Dari and Pashto. Does anybody here have any info about the Heritage Language Program and how it relates to healthcare workers? I have been dissapointed with most of the recruiters I have talked to. Are there any practicing Navy nurses I can be put... in contact with in my area who can give me some accurate info or give me a tour of their facilities? Seeing how there is still a war in Afghanistan, I would assume someone with my skill set would be very beneficial, but I keep getting the cold shoulder or lead around in circles. Why is this the case?! Any info would be greatly appreciated! Gracias!

Christina Marie Coppola I am a Junior in college for nursing, and when I have graduated I want to get my masters as a nurse practitioner. Has anyone gone in after graduating and then got their masters through the navy? Could you please let me know how that experience worked out for you and if it is a good idea for me to maybe do the same? Thanks!
