Hello, I'm looking into the Navy Nurse Candidate Program...do I just talk to a recruiter to do this or is there a specific application? I've always wanted to be in the military, almost every guy on my father's side was Navy so I think I'd really enjoy it and if they pay for school..added bonus. Is there anyone on here ...who has done that or is currently a Nurse? I'd love to hear from you! - Shannon (AggieMedicSLK@hotmail.com)Read More

***I don't mean to be a downer but alot of posts ive seen are about joining the Navy so that your education is paid for. While I'm all for that, I just want to remind everyone out there that if you do take this route you are joining the MILITARY. Don't forget it. With recent events at Fort Hood and the physician who fr...eaked out when facing his first deployment, i think you all should never forget that being deployed is always a possibility, especially in Navy healthcare. You should be proud to do it if called upon and if the thought of deploying is more than you can handle, than this might not be the right thing for you. I've met too many people who are in and have already lost sight of this. Just some food for thought...Read More

I'm 26 years old and I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, but now I am back in school to get my BSN in nursing. I've been thinking about joining the Navy Nurse corp after I receive my degree, but I have 2-3 more years of school left. Would it be better for me to wait and join to be an officer or would it be more... beneficially to join as an enlist? I'm not sure which route to take. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.Read More

I currently work for the Department of Veterans Affairs and have 16 years of experience in Healthcare. I have a BS in Healthcare Administration and am currently half way through graduate school for my MBA and can do a concentration in Healthcare Administration. I am carrying a 4.0. I am deciding between military bra...nches and will go with the branch that can offer me the best benefits and pay. Is the Navy up for a self-motivated and ambitous woman like me?Read More
