I'm not sure showing the picture is something that is necessarily needed. I think we get enough of that with the tabloids. But more importantly is the success stories of woman who have overcome domestic abuse and are no longer a victim and how they have moved on. I do however believe that the community needs to realize that Domestic Violence is ... See Moreon the rise with our currently financial situation with our families, especially those loosing jobs and homes. Now comes the responsibility of how can we help.

I hate to see my favorite news outlets follow up current events in the same way as the tabloids we read while waiting in line at the supermarket. Like Kathleen said above, we need our respectable news outlets to follow up such stories responsibly with how to overcome and try to prevent such abuse, and how to take away the victim mentality and move on as stronger women in life. If I wanted to read what happened and see a disrespectful picture, I'd go to the grocery store and pick up a tabloid.

It was wrong, pure and simple, and reduces news programs to nothing better than tabloid television. The only reason it even made news is that Rihanna and Chris Brown are considered "celebrities" (a term I use rather loosely). What about all the women who are beaten on a daily basis? Where is the attention to their struggles? A victim is a victim, no matter who they are. The focus should be the problem of domestic violence and what is being done to help those who are victims of it.

I disagree with the above posts. I think by showing the pictures you made us believe it. It also helps neive people who are tricked by the lies thier daughters, mothers, sisters, etc.. are telling them. If we see it on someone we KNOW was abused then we can address it with the ones we love. I think we should out more abusers and make them really "Sorry". Good job NEWS10

Personally, being a survivor of domestic violence, I find it disgusting that Schwarzennegger cuts funding for Domestic Violence victims. I think that we ALL come from dysfunctional families, and it takes a lot of hard work and looking at your self and your own behaviors to 'break' the cycle......and we all know that a) it is so much easier to ... See Moreblame others and b) as long as women have to be 'dependent' on males for economic stability and are the 'lesser' sex, so to speak....the cycle will NEVER be broken. I also think that Chris Brown being upset with Oprah because he has 'done so much for her' is confused....the two don't equate. ANYONE can ALWAYS walk away instead of beat a loved one, or treat him/her like they are 'trash'...the violence we keep under the rug in ALL of America's families is astounding, and personally, If we can't end violence in our own families, how can we call ourselves 'Peacekeepers' of the world?
