Stacey I will relish all the podcasts of "News & Notes" that much more... I'll be waiting to hear your voice over the airwaves again --your broadcast was like the a favorite sweater, comforting after a long day.
Sherita I am missing the show as it was a close friend keeping me informed and in tune with my culture and those active within. I still automatically turn NPR on at night thinking News and Notes will be there for my drive home. I hope that there will be some new outlet to bring the voices of Farai and Tony back to public radio very soon!

Heather I have loved your show. I will miss it. I couldn't help dancing to the final song, celebrating what y'all have created. I am sure there were other listeners doing the same as a tribute. It's fun to imagine us doing that together in our living rooms and offices around the country.

David Calloway So, NPR is out. Who's in? An independent News & Notes channel for podcasts and blog columns? With some underwriting, it becomes quality content in search of outlets. And there are plenty of those out there, not just the internet.

Jay Miller I made it a point to stay up late for New and Notes. I found this to be one of the most balanced and responsible news outlets, consistently offering thoughtful opinions by very bright people, often helping me develop more informed opinions about events of the day. Vincent Tomasso I am really saddened to see your show go. I often catch the last half hour of it on my way home from work and I value the topics you have provided several different views on at your round tables. It has given me a great opportunity to think about things from many different points of view and this will be a great loss. I still hope that there is an eleventh hour change of mind regarding News and Notes. Thanks for everything, I'll miss you and your work.

Why did your show dedicate so much time to Michelle Obama's hair? I found it really insulting that you would ask her to change the person she has so skillfully designed to suit some superficial need to "prove" her blackness to other African American women. Michelle Obama is a highly educated, successful career woman (independent of her husband) who appears to be confident and ultimately happy within. Yet your guest made it sound like she needed to improve her appearance by adding hair extensions! Really? By the end of that segment I wasn't sure if I was listening to responsible reporting or an infomercial for hair weaves. When are we going to learn to celebrate our individuality be it intellectually, physically and/or economically instead of continuously referring to some uniform that others have designed for us?
I sincerely hope that the balance of the News and Notes shows don't taint my good memories of past shows.
