On Monday night Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Bruce Bowen and over 350 community leaders, elected officials, and concerned citizens packed the ballroom at the Tropicana Hotel.It wasn’t politics that drew them there, but rather a sense of community. You see, at the heart of my race to bring change to the Distric...t Attorney’s Office is a belief that it’s not enough to be part of the process, we have a responsibility to be part of the solution.As I shared with the crowd on Monday night, we have a broken justice system, and unless we attack the root causes of crime, the revolving door will keep spinning. Consider the facts:8 out of 10 inmates in Texas are high school dropouts1 out of every 2 inmates has addiction problems70% of kids growing up with a parent in prison will be incarcerated at some point in their lives
