    • After yet another beautiful week of Spring-like temps in the 40's & 50's here in Boston, we will see only the 2nd accumulating snow storm of the winter here in MA, starting early Sat AM. Most of Eastern MA will see 2-4 inches but don't be surprised if you get more, southwest of Boston. And then it will get brutally cold here for Sun as temps will only be in the 20's, w/ windy conditions so it will feel more like 10's & single digit temps. As for my FL friends, you have a 50% for rain today into tonight with much cooler temps for the weekend. 69 for Sat and 59 for Sun!! 70's return by Tuesday! Have a great weekend all!!

    • And in just 12 hours the NHC has said there is now 0% of this disturbance of forming into anything tropical, due to wind shear in the upper levels of the atmosphere, but still windy & rainy conditions for South Florida.

    • A good story that explains our lack of a Winter this year. Who needs Punxsutawney Phil to tell us there is more or less Winter!! No real cold spells in sight in North America for this month at least!!

Snow has been missing in action for much of the U.S. the last couple months. But it's not just snow. It's practically the season that's gone AWOL.

        • Rain for both Boston and Sarasota today. Dense Fog out there in MA this morning so drive safely and use the low beams. SRQ seeing some much needed rain and then temps in the mid 70's where they should be, after being in the mid 80's and humid. Warm here in Boston too as temps in the mid 50's again today and in the 40's for the rest of the weekend into next week, as temps are still well above average by some 10 degrees. Climate Change anyone? Weird winter her in MA. Are we even really going to get a winter? Jetstream is staying in Canada this year. Have a great weekend everyone!

        • Hard to believe that just a few days ago we were in the 20s and teens with 5 inches of snow and then today it was 56°!! Crazy Winter here in New England!! My heart goes out to the people of Birmingham, Alabama and the tornado that struck them early yesterday morning.

          • Tomorrow (Sunday) has the potential to be a fairly significant severe weather day across parts of the mid-south, the lower and middle Mississippi valley and parts of the Ohio and Tennessee valley. Multiple tornadoes are a distinct possibility with this setup. Full information at http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html

            • After some Ocean Effect snow for 3 hours this afternoon, we are getting another powerful burst of snow here in Boston like we did on Monday night, but this time the roads are treated, the snow is not wet and heavy, but the snowfall rates are in the 2-3 inch an hour range, diminishing visibilities big time, so travel safely tonight Bostonians. This is hopefully the base for the additional 3-6 inches we may get on Saturday, when I can finally take Ava sledding for the 1st time this Winter!

              • A strange couple of days here in MA weatherwise. We had a crazy little snowstorm Mon night that brought the roads to a standstill, since they didn't treat the roads or get the plows out there in a timely manner, to 52 degrees at 3 this morning, now temps are falling, w/ winds gusting to 50 mph & temps will be in the 30's later as cold air rushes in behind a cold front that just passed by. Snow for Thurs night. 1-2 inches in Boston & 2-5 outside the city & a Wintry Mix on Sat, starting as snow & sleet. A weak front moving thru FL today & 1 20% of rain. Temps in the 70's!

                • All my FL friends will be seeing some great weather the next week or so with temps in the low to mid 60's through the weekend and low 70's next week!! I'd love to be there for it! As for MA, the rain/snow (interior and areas NW of Boston) is tapering off for now, but more rain for tomorrow and very windy conditions, as wind will be well over 40-50 mph and a COLD weekend on tap. In the 20's for the Pats/Broncos game Saturday night and in the teens for highs on Sunday!
