Tina Goette

Tina Goette My favorite ODC memory: taking my best friend's 5 year old son - just the two of us. First we got a plush rabbit and he held on tight to that lil bunny throughout the whole show, laughing as the boy shook his booty in bed. I now take my daughter and nieces every year and watch as their wide eyes take it all in and laugh at the same parts that entertained my young friend 8 years ago...

I CAN NOT WAIT TO SHOW EVERYONE MY DANCE- IT WILL BE MY 1ST DANCE AT ODC!! YAY- I excited to show my work that is inspired by Divine Comedy (Italian: La Divina Commedia), written by Dante Alighieri. I have 12 dancers from the age 16 to over 40 year old. Non Professional dancer mixed with professional dancer, a few de...af dancers, and it going to be Crazy!

The dance is called "You never know what Burn you make you whole"

Not only my work is going to be da bomb but Julie Caffey, Jessica Damon, Erin Derstine, Ara Glenn-Johanson, Leigh Riley. They got some stuff that make me wanna dance in their dance too.

I hope you all come see the show because I am super excited to see how the out come is going to be we only had 2 month of rehearsal only 4 hours of rehearsal a week- This will not be an easy dance to make when you dont have everyone! There was never a day when i had everyone there for rehearsal and you know I DONT ever ever make a dance I am not happy with!
(made myself laugh) Come see us Dance!

Kt Nelson My favorite moment was when I played the Nana and the Fairy. After the show me and the velveteen rabbit went out into the lobby to meet a deaf classroom.....we walked into this sea of silence, that hugged us and touched us. Their awe was my awe.

Anne DANCER's PERSPECTIVE: There is nothing more sweet than the sound of little voices giggling and laughing from the audience! After many years, moments like these always remind me why I am so happy to be dancing in this show.

Anna Kiachian Leaver

Anna Kiachian Leaver We have been taking all three of my girls, as well as my niece and nefew for three years now. My most memorable moments was during our first show, at the very ending when The Velveteen Rabbit gets his kiss from the fairy and become real - I turned to look at all five of these tiny, mesmerized faces beside me and realized my 5-year-old newfew had little tears running down his cheeks. Beautiful.

Jackie

Jackie When i see all the kids decked out in those little velvet dresses, clamoring to get into the theater, i remember being an awestruck little girl, mesmerized by the beautiful dancing

VELVETEEN RABBIT: MOM's PERSPECTIVE - I'll never forget the first time I brought my child's preschool class to see VR. Never seen such a bunch of *motion machines* sit so attentively for so long. They were absolutely mesmerized by the story narration, the staging and production and, of course, the enchanting dancers. M...y 5 year old leaned over to me just before the final curtain and said "Love makes me real too, Mom". Don't miss!Read More

Nancy Bertossa

Nancy Bertossa There are too many favorite Velveteen Rabbit memories but I must say... I do love the section with the human vacuum cleaners!

SF's
drag community had its collective breath knocked out of it in 2003 when
Fauxnique (aka Monique Jenkinson) was the first biologically female
"faux queen" to win the coveted title of Miss Trannyshack. And for good
reason too: Fauxnique's performances — in which her formal dance
training is on display nearly as often as h...er makeup skills — are
laser-sharp, frequently hilarious, and beautiful to behold. In
Jenkinson's newest show, Luxury Items, she turns her
mascara-ed gimlet eye to commodity fetishism: designer and counterfeit
handbags come to life; perfume ads are dissected via voguing; and
Marxism is brought into dialogue with The Pajama Game (1957).
