Opt 3, Steve Rosinski, recently competed in the World Championships Duathlon in Concord, NC, at the NASCAR Lowes Motor Speedway. Steve finished in 3rd place and received a bronze medal in the 20-24 age group and 17th overall within all age groups. It was a competitive pool as athletes competing represented 34 countri...es.
The strenuous event starts off with athletes running 6.2 miles, then biking 25 miles, then running again for 3.1 miles. To be invited to this competition, Steve qualified at the Duathlon National Championships on Sunday, April 26 2009 in Richmond, VA, by placing 8th overall and 2nd in his age group (20-24 year olds).
Along with his studies and career in optometry, Steve hopes to turn professional in his sport in the near future. He says, "It is always difficult competing with others who don't have the time commitments that Optometry school requires." A remarkable accomplishment for an extremely devoted student, congratulations, Steve!Read More
