Inger Svindahl

Inger Svindahl I love Alexander McCall Smiths warm humour and philosophy. His new book "The Dog Who Came In From The Cold", growing from the web. Nice.

Connie Campbell Berry

Connie Campbell Berry Sheila, I'm with you! I hope Barbara and Hugh prove the pessimists of this world wrong for once. However, I am a little surprised that William would give Freddie de la Hay to MI6 for that long. I have to admit, though, that I can't wait to see what it is he will do!

Ginny Agnew

Ginny Agnew I was so impressed that lawyer AMS carefully added the trademark symbol to his use of Barbie to keep Mattel at bay. It is those little fine points that so delight me in his writings. That and the numerous new vocabulary words I learn through him.

Carol Smith

Carol Smith I do hope there is a comeuppance planned for the deceitful Dee.

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph “A Sudoku remedy,” said Dee. “Improve your Sudoku performance with a pill.” I think Dee has been taking to many pills herself, its gone straight to her head. What is the strangest invention you have ever heard?

Grace McArdle

Grace McArdle I was so happy to see Corduroy Mansions back on line. I miss seeing into all the characters lives

Sheila Tryk

Sheila Tryk Hugh is a Highlander, so he MUST be one of the Good Guys. Barbara's romantic expectations are not rooted in reality. A Highlander wouldn't prepare an effete picnic but he would compose a poem. Oh, I do hope Hugh and Barbara turn out to be compatible...

Cathy Mullican

Cathy Mullican The chapter 27 file seems to be missing. (Or else the URL in the podcast feed is wrong.)

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph I can't help worrying that Hugh will turn out to be less than the perfect creature that Barbara has painted him, I do hope he is a good one!!!!

Just a thought, does Hugh know Terence's new house guests? What possibilities!

He seems to be in love, but is it a ruse for some other end? We'll wait to find out, I guess.

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph What do we think about Terence's new house guests?

I had written a comment about their being free-loaders, but then I realized I was being just like Berthea. I think I'll reserve judgment and wait to see what they are about. Maybe it's something good rather than bad, as Berthea assumes. Maybe there's nothing wrong with Terence either -- just that he's cut from different cloth than Berthea is. I'm feeling very charitable today.

Dioni Zhong Are Book One podcasts available somewhere? I missed the whole Book One and am very reluctant to start on Book Two straight away.

Alexander McCall Smith- Corduroy Mansions- Telegraph Should we be worried about James?

I don't think we should worry. He's not sure what he wants yet. Have to give him more time to figure himself out and make the right choices. We DO NOT want Caroline to get hurt, do we?

Hmmm... his germ thing has to be kept under control. Otherwise he'll become a true nuisance. It's not good that it stops him from kissing Dee on the cheeks... He definitely needs some kind of fix. He'll never be "solid", but I wouldn't like him to become a bother!

It's half a white lie, half lack of self esteem. Deep down, Dee knows Caroline wouldn't like it, so she hides it from her. On the other hand, she hasn't got enough self esteem to believe that she's entitled to go out with James.
