Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Turkeys in running gear and sneakers? It's not a mai tai nightmare. It's the annual Turkey Trot sponsored by the Honolulu Marathon Clinic on Thurs, Nov. 26, 7 to 9 am, from Kapiolani Park, up and around Diamond Head, Kahala, and back to Waikiki. Ronald McDonald House Charities honored The Kelley Family and Outrigger Enterprises Group last night at its 2009 Gala. Receiving a standing ovation and a specially-made commemorative Hawaiian quilt, the organization hailed the Kelley Family as a strong advocate for establishing Hawaii's first Ronald McDonald House in 1...987 and providing rooms and lodging at its hotels for families of seriously ill children during medical emergencies. This partnership and legacy of giving has made it possible for RMHC Hawaii to never turn a family away since opening 22 years ago. A nice touch point in this season of giving. Sarah Falconer Love this place! We spent our honeymoon here for a full week, which wasn't nearly long enough. Love the restaurants and shops as we went to all. Banana Bay offered wonderful prices and a great assortment of swimwear. I found two new suits and a cover up! We had our best meal at Hula grill! Chef Rosenberry rocks!! Can't wait to come back soon!

Outrigger Enterprises Group yesterday received the inaugural "Green Leader Award" from Reynolds Recycling for being top recycling and sustainability leader in Hawaii's tourism industry. We've recovered more than one million beverage containers from guest rooms since 2006 and will recycle half-m...illion more this year alone. Additionally, beach mats, plastic body boards, air mattresses, inner tubes and other "disposable" beach toys left in hotel rooms are donated to a vendor that turns them into chic eco-products like handbags and totes.
